# Payments

Gravity Pass takes card payments through **Stripe**. You connect your own Stripe account, and what customers pay for bookings, passes and merchandise is paid out to you. You'll need a Stripe account already (or you can create one during the connection).

## Connect your account

1. **Open Payments**

Go to **Administration > Payments**. If no account is connected, you'll see **No Stripe account connected**.
2. **Choose Connect with Stripe**

You're taken to Stripe to sign in and approve the connection.
3. **Return to Gravity Pass**

Stripe sends you back to the Payments page, which now shows **Connected**.

Until an account is connected, **customers cannot pay for anything**.

## Reading the status

Once connected, the page shows your business name, email and Stripe account number, plus two things that matter:

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Accepting payments** | `Yes` means customers can pay you. `No` means Stripe isn't ready yet. |
| **Payouts** | Whether Stripe can pay money out to your bank. |

A coloured dot shows the state at a glance. If either is off, the page tells you whether Stripe still needs more details from you or is reviewing the account. Finish the job in your [Stripe dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com).

## Booking fee: who pays

Gravity Pass charges a percentage fee on every ticket, event and season pass booking. It is **not** charged on shop orders. The percentage is set on the server, but you choose who bears it.

Once an account is connected, the **Booking fee** section of the Payments page shows the percentage and two options, each worked through for an example booking so you can see the effect before you choose:

| Option | What the customer pays | What you receive |
|---|---|---|
| **You absorb the fee** | The ticket price and nothing more. | The ticket price less the fee. |
| **You pass the fee on** | The ticket price plus the fee, shown as a **Booking fee** line at checkout. | The full ticket price. |

Select an option and the change is saved straight away. It applies to bookings made from then on; bookings already paid for are not changed.

- **Stripe's own processing fees** come out of your Stripe account whichever option you pick. The examples on the page show your payout before them.
- **Refunds give the fee back too.**
- If Gravity Pass isn't charging a fee on your bookings, the page says so and there is nothing to choose.

## Disconnect

Choose **Disconnect** to stop taking payments. Customers can't pay for new bookings until you connect an account again. Existing bookings and your Stripe account are not affected.

## "Not available yet"

If the page says Stripe Connect hasn't been set up on this server, the system itself is missing its Stripe settings. You can't fix that from the portal: ask whoever hosts or maintains your Gravity Pass system.

> **Refunds**
>
> Refunds you make from the portal, such as cancelling a paid booking or refunding a shop order, are sent through Stripe automatically. Refunding a **season pass** is not available in the portal yet: refund it in your Stripe dashboard, then disable or delete the pass if needed.
