# Marketing

> **Administrators only**
>
> This part of the portal is only visible to people with the **Administrator** role. If you can't see it in your menu, ask an administrator. See [Roles and permissions](/reference/roles-and-permissions).

Gravity Pass doesn't send marketing email itself. Instead it keeps the tools you already use in step with your customers. Under **Marketing** in the menu you can:

- **Integrations** — Connect Mailchimp or SendGrid with an API key and choose which audience or list to send to. [Read](/marketing/integrations)
- **Configuration** — Choose whether new customers are sent automatically. [Read](/marketing/configuration)
- **Export** — Download a CSV of everyone who hasn't opted out. [Read](/marketing/export)

## How opting out works

Every customer is either **opted in** or **opted out**. You can change it on their [customer page](/daily/customers#opt-out-of-marketing).

- Opted-out customers are **never** sent to your tools and are left out of the export.
- An opt-out is **always passed on** to every connected tool, whether or not automatic sync is on, so they stop receiving marketing.
- Opting someone back in re-adds them to your tools only while automatic sync is on.

> **Not the same as transactional email**
>
> Marketing choices don't affect emails that a customer expects, such as booking confirmations, waiver links and order updates.
