# Customers

A customer is created automatically the first time someone books, buys a pass, or orders from the shop. Under **Operations > Customers** you can look any of them up.

## Search and sort

Type a **name or email** and choose **Search**. Results show 100 per page. Click a column heading, **Name**, **Email** or **First seen**, to sort, and click it again to reverse. On a phone, sort buttons appear above the list.

## A customer's page

Select a customer to see everything about them.

| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| **Contact details** | Name, email, phone, date of birth, emergency contact, when they first appeared, and any children saved on their account. |
| **Waiver** | Whether they've signed and when. If not, you can send or resend the email. |
| **Marketing** | Whether they're opted in or out, with a button to change it. |
| **Season passes** | Their passes with dates and status (only shown if they have any). |
| **Upcoming bookings** | Still-live bookings from today onwards, soonest first. |
| **Past bookings** | Everything else, most recent first. |
| **Activity** | A timeline of what has happened, with the staff member responsible. |

A booking they're only riding on, made by someone else, is marked *"Riding on a booking made by …"*.

## Correct someone's details

Choose **Edit** to change their first and last name, email, phone, date of birth or emergency contact. Dates of birth can be left empty if unknown. This is recorded in the [audit log](/compliance/audit-log).

> **Note**
>
> **Edit** isn't shown for customers who have been [anonymised](/compliance/scrub-data), because their details no longer exist.

## Send or resend the waiver link

If a customer hasn't signed, the Waiver section says whether a link has already been emailed. Choose **Send waiver email** (or **Resend waiver email**) to send it again. It goes to the customer's email address. The first email is sent automatically when a booking is paid. See [Waivers](/daily/waivers).

## Opt out of marketing

If someone asks not to receive marketing, open their page and choose **Opt out of marketing**.

- They're **left out of the marketing export**.
- Your connected marketing tools are told to stop emailing them. If one of those tools can't be reached, the choice is still saved and the page shows a warning.
- **Opt back in** reverses it. They're only re-added to your tools if [automatic sync](/marketing/configuration) is on.

This choice isn't about the emails that confirm a booking or order. Those are still sent. See [Marketing](/marketing).
