# Audit log

> **Administrators only**
>
> This part of the portal is only visible to people with the **Administrator** role. If you can't see it in your menu, ask an administrator. See [Roles and permissions](/reference/roles-and-permissions).

**Compliance > Audit Log** records changes made in the management portal. Each entry shows **when** it happened, **who** did it, **what** was done, and the **customer** it concerned, if any. Select a customer name to open their page.

## Filter the log

| Filter | Use it to… |
|---|---|
| **Team member** | See only what one person did. The list includes everyone who can sign in. |
| **Customer email address** | See everything done to one customer. |
| **From** and **To** | Limit to a date range. The last day is inclusive and uses your own local days. |

Choose **Filter** to apply them and **Clear** to start again. Results show 100 at a time, with paging controls underneath.

If you filter by a customer email that doesn't exist, you'll see a message saying so instead of an empty list.

## What it's useful for

- **A mistake.** Someone cancelled the wrong booking: find out who and when.
- **A customer complaint.** "I was refunded but wasn't told": see exactly what happened and by whom.
- **Leavers.** Review what a team member did before you [deactivate](/setup/team#deactivate-and-reactivate) them.
- **Data protection.** Show who has accessed or changed a customer's information.

> **Tip**
>
> A single booking also shows its own **History**, with the same information limited to that booking. See [Managing a booking](/daily/managing-a-booking).
